Russian air defenses shoot down 231 Ukrainian drones

Russian air defenses managed to intercept a total of 231 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight from Thursday to Friday, June 12, according to the Ministry of Defense. This defensive action took place in the context of the escalation of hostilities in the territory.
The military body specified that the demolition operations were carried out in a coordinated manner in various regions of the country, including Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Smolensk, Tula, Ulyanovsk, Volgograd and Voronezh.
The authorities also confirmed the success of the interceptions over the republics of Crimea and Tatarstan. The defensive deployment was also extended to airspace over the Sea of Azov, thus ensuring the protection of these strategic areas.
This military deployment reflects the magnitude of the recent attack with unmanned aerial vehicles. The Ministry of Defense continues to monitor the situation in the face of possible new incursions into the territory under its jurisdiction.
