SENIAT inspects progress in the operational reactivation of the port of La Guaira

At the port of La Guaira, an inspection was carried out to evaluate the progress of the operational reactivation in the reception of goods, import processes and customs procedures.

The supervision was carried out by the superintendent of the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT), Román Maniglia, in the company of the Chamber of Commerce of La Guaira and Bolivariana de Ports (Boliports), for the exchange of progress in port activity following the contingency represented for this state by the double earthquake of last June.

In this regard, the general manager of the Port of La Guaira, Danny Salazar, stressed that, after the evaluations, 500 containers are shipped daily and, on average, between 500 and a thousand containers are received from imports. He also emphasized that the operation has remained uninterrupted since the reactivation of the service.

“We are doing the fastest processes so that the merchandise is nationalized and economic activity reaches its most optimal level. We are preparing for the coming months, which are the busiest in the Venezuelan economy,” Maniglia said.

This process will serve to accelerate the management of import and export charges in order to boost both domestic and international trade, with compliance with the regulations and controls necessary to guarantee the payment of the corresponding taxes.
