South Korea donates funds to UNICEF to support care after earthquakes in Venezuela

The Government of South Korea approved a financial contribution of 2.5 million dollars for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), with the objective of strengthening the humanitarian response after the earthquakes that occurred last June 24 in Venezuela.

As reported by the international organization, the resources allocated will ensure that children and adolescents in affected areas maintain continuous access to essential services, comprehensive protection programs and learning activities.

In this regard, the representative of UNICEF in Venezuela, Manuel Rodríguez Pumarol, highlighted the relevance of the Asian country's economic contribution and stated that this support comes at a key moment to promote the recovery process of families hit by the emergency.

The donation will reinforce priority assistance plans in the national territory, focusing efforts towards well-being, stability and the guarantee of the fundamental rights of children during the phase following the earthquake.
