Spain activated warning warnings this Friday in 11 autonomous communities due to high temperatures, heavy rains and storms, according to the State Meteorological Agency, in addition to predicting more than 40 degrees in areas of the east, center and south of the peninsula and episodes of hail and intense wind in inland areas.

The yellow-level heat warnings are maintained in Andalusia, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Madrid, where the values will exceed 34 degrees, while in sectors of Andalusia they will once again reach 40. On the islands of Gran Canaria and La Palma, warnings have also been activated for temperatures that will reach 34 degrees.

The Canarian archipelago also records alerts for strong winds in La Gomera, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, El Hierro and Tenerife, as well as for waves in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, requiring increased surveillance in coastal and mountain areas.

The orange level warnings are concentrated in Catalonia and Teruel due to rains and storms that, according to the Aemet, will be accompanied by hail and very strong gusts of wind, in addition to maintaining significant risk in inland areas during the weekend.
