Successful repair of expansion joints carried out on the Caracas-La Guaira viaduct

The repair work of the expansion joints on viaduct number 1 of the Caracas - La Guaira Highway announced by the National Government was successfully carried out, after being affected by the double earthquake of last June 24.

During the early hours of the morning, the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation, through the Road Maintenance Company (ENVIAL), carried out corrective actions in the affected councils, actions that consolidate and promote the safe mobility of Venezuelans.

The work of this work on the road that connects the capital with the Central Coast was inspected by the Deputy Minister of Land Transport, Paola Artahona, and the president of the Road Maintenance Company (Envial), Luis Noriega, to guarantee the correct execution of the works.

In this regard, engineer Eduardo Oliveira, the company's Road Maintenance Manager, indicated technical details: “The bolts that are used to level the joint were planted, which will be fixed with an epoxy material, and then the leveling will be accompanied so that it is supported by a super-concrete that sets quickly for greater resistance.”

Oliveira also highlighted the importance of this task to maintain the mobility of the structure in the face of any movement, which will allow its stability.
