Taty Almeida, president of the Madres de Plaza de Mayo Founding Line and symbol of the fight for human rights in Argentina, died this Sunday at the age of 95, according to RT.

The information was released through a statement from the human rights organization that reads:
“With a very deep pain, we have to share the saddest news: today our dear Taty Almeida left”.

After the news broke, the former Argentine president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, also regretted the departure of Almeida, whom she described as a “tireless fighter”. “You honored life. Until always dear Taty.”
