The Bolivarian Government began rehabilitation work at kilometer 21 of the Barquisimeto-Rio Claro highway

After the damage caused by recent rainfall in Lara state, the Bolivarian Government began work to repair a critical edge fault in the Manguito Abajo sector, at kilometer 21 of the road that connects Barquisimeto and the Rio Claro parish.

The comprehensive approach plan contemplates the construction of a retaining wall made up of 124 gabions, the restoration and channeling of broaches, as well as the subsequent conditioning and placement of the asphalt binder.

These works will make it possible to safely restore the passability of this road artery, on which more than 39,000 families and agricultural producers in the region depend directly.

In this regard, the Secretary of Public Works of the Government of the State of Lara, Félix Ducharne, deeply appreciated the patience and understanding shown by the community of Manguito Abajo, who indicated that they are deployed to solve this important edge fault that undermined 50% of the road.

He also stressed that they immediately deal with the effects caused by the rains in various municipalities of the entity, which include the agricultural sectors of Morán, Andrés Eloy Blanco, Urdaneta and Siquisique.

It is expected that by next week the asphalt installation work will be completed and the traffic passage at kilometer 21 will be completely restored.
