This Sunday morning, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, commander of the Cuban Revolution, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and Labor, died, as announced by the country's authorities.

President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his deep sorrow over the physical departure of the commander, a participant in the assault on the Moncada Barracks and in the Granma expedition, the rebel army fighter in the Sierra Maestra, second leader of the invading column No. 8 Ciro Redondo and protagonist alongside Che in the Battle of Santa Clara.
