The governor of the state of Aragua, Joana Sánchez, reported the birth of two baby white lions, the children of the specimens that arrived in the country in 2022 from the Czech Republic and who were rescued from a wild trafficking network.

“Puppies are adapting positively to bottle feeding, a process that is carried out manually by their caregivers in the maternity area, under the strict supervision of our veterinary team,” said the regional president.

In addition, they explained that the puppies were separated from the mother because the mother “has not developed the maternal skills necessary for care and breastfeeding”.

The two puppies, female and male, weighed 1.4 kilos and 1.8 kilos, respectively, according to the publication, which added that this difference makes them monitor their weight daily.

The zoo and the governor indicated that the first hours of life of these animals are critical, so they keep a confidential forecast.
