UN warns critical shelter deficit for Gaza due to the rainy season

The United Nations (UN) warned that Gaza faces a deficit of up to 100,000 tents on the eve of the rainy season, in addition to noting that humanitarian partners were only able to acquire less than 30,000 units that are being held outside the enclave in the face of an estimated need between 80,000 and 130,000.

Spokesman Stéphane Dujarric reported that it is not possible to introduce more durable shelter supplies and explained that the humanitarian operation is seriously underfunded, in addition to specifying that less than 40% of the 4 billion dollars required to serve Gaza and the West Bank has been received.
