The Government of the United Arab Emirates sent a second plane carrying 45 tons of humanitarian aid to Nepal, aimed at those affected by the floods and landslides that have hit the country.

The shipment includes food, relief materials, electric generators and other essential supplies for affected families, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

This new delivery is in addition to the first flight, which departed on August 30 with 83 tons of food, tents and basic necessities, within the framework of the 10 million dollars allocated by the Emirati president, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for emergency work.

The collapse of the glacier on the border between Nepal and Chinese Tibet caused a flood that has so far left more than 1,000 dead and nearly 4,000 missing in Nepalese territory.
