Venezuela and Israel agree to establish a mechanism for the provision of consular services (+press release)

In a statement, released this Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Governments of Venezuela and Israel announced the continuity of bilateral technical cooperation resulting from emergency and recovery efforts after the double earthquake of last June 24.

In addition, both nations agreed to “establish a coordination mechanism that allows the provision of consular services to their respective citizens resident in the other country, as necessary.”

The Governments of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the State of Israel report that, following the visit of the Israeli humanitarian delegation to Venezuela on the occasion of the double earthquake that occurred on June 24, and following the talks held between senior authorities on both sides, the two countries have agreed to allow the continuity of bilateral technical cooperation resulting from emergency and recovery efforts after the double earthquake.

In addition, the two countries agree to establish a coordination mechanism that allows the provision of consular services to their respective citizens resident in the other country, as necessary.

Both governments recognize the importance of the link between the State of Israel and the Jewish community resident in Venezuela, which constitutes an important bridge of historic friendship between the two countries.
