Venezuela and Paraguay begin a new phase in their diplomatic relations (+press release)

The governments of the Republic of Paraguay and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela made official the beginning of a new phase in their diplomatic relations in connection with the historic working visit to the city of Caracas of the Paraguayan president, Santiago Peña.
Through a joint statement, published by the Government of Paraguay, both nations ratified their political will to progressively energize their bilateral ties under principles of mutual respect, open dialogue, sovereignty and adherence to international law for the stability and well-being of their peoples.
They also reaffirmed their shared objective of promoting complementary trade and revitalizing technical, productive and social cooperation mechanisms.

Joint communication between the Republic of Paraguay and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on the occasion of the working visit of the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña.
The Government of Paraguay and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela celebrate the historic working visit to the city of Caracas of the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña. This meeting marks the beginning of a new phase of relationship and lays the foundations for a progressive and full dynamization of diplomatic relations.
Paraguay and Venezuela ratify the principles of frank, open and respectful dialogue, with strict attachment to national sovereignty, the sovereign equality of States, the self-determination of peoples, reciprocity and full compliance with international law, in favor of peace, stability and shared well-being.
They recognize the importance of providing meeting spaces between the productive and commercial sectors to promote opportunities of mutual interest.
Both Governments reaffirm their commitment to combining capacities to promote integral economic development, promote complementary trade and energize technical, productive and social cooperation mechanisms, consolidating spaces for constructive dialogue that result in direct benefits for both peoples.
Signed in the city of Caracas, nineteen (19) days in the month of September 2026.
