Venezuela and the Republic of Congo discuss prospects for cooperation in the tourism sector

The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Congo, Laura Evangelia Suárez, held a productive meeting with the delegate minister responsible for the tourism industry of this nation, Prince Bertrand Bahamboula, with whom she discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in tourism.

The meeting was part of the activation of the exchanges stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries, the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs and International Trade (MPPRECI) reported on its website.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of activating bilateral exchange based on the signed instrument, analyzing the tourist potential of the African country, which includes nature, culture and recreation in localities in the interior of the country.

In this regard, Suárez recalled the organization of the first diplomatic excursion to the tourist site of Ngabé in February 2025, which allowed him to share with the local population, learn about spiritual and/or traditional authorities and carry out cultural and recreational activities.

In this context, the diplomat stressed that with Commander Hugo Chávez, President Nicolás Maduro and now the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, popular tourism began and continued, aimed at telling and learning about national history and culture, such as dance, singing, murals and other artistic expressions.

He also highlighted the successful “100% San Agustín” initiative, through the San Agustín Cumbe Tours, which has allowed national and foreign tourists to learn about the history and culture, and to share with the people of this populous Caracas parish.

At the meeting, the Head of Mission announced the Venezuelan Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs System as a different way of doing national tourism.

He also presented the proposal for cooperation with the Congo through The System, as a method to inculcate discipline and collective work through music, a proposal well received by the Congolese minister, who expressed his willingness to advance joint work in tourism and culture.
