Venezuela and the United Kingdom agree to raise the level of bilateral relations (+Communiqué)

The governments of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland agreed to raise the level of their bilateral relations, marked by a constructive dialogue based on mutual respect.

In a statement, released by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia, Venezuela reaffirmed “its full willingness to repromote historic ties of friendship with the People and Government of the United Kingdom”.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela announces that, after talks held between authorities of both countries, it has been agreed to raise the level of bilateral relations with the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This new phase will be marked by a constructive dialogue, based on mutual respect and oriented to the sovereign management of the resources of the Venezuelan people, with a view to contributing to the recovery efforts and the integral development of the country.

Venezuela reaffirms its full willingness to repromote historic ties of friendship with the people and Government of the United Kingdom, as well as to strengthen cooperation in areas of common interest, based on the principles of national sovereignty, reciprocity and respect for international law.
