Venezuela beat Puerto Rico 84-65 on the second day of the women's U18 AmeriCup in Mexico.
Mezharith Beleño was the most outstanding player of the day, with 28 points, seven rebounds and two assists for the purple team.
Those led by Luz Vargas secure at least second place in their group in the AmeriCup U18, allowing them to be in the duel for a place in the semifinals. However, a victory in the next match against Canada qualifies the purple team in the FIBA U19 World Cup as a group leader.
