The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulated the People and Government of the Republic of Nicaragua this Monday, on the 47th anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Revolution.

Through its social networks, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry recalled that this important historical event “put an end to 40 years of dictatorship in dear Nicaragua”, with the triumph of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).

The Sandinista Popular Revolution was the result of a long process, nourished by the struggles of the Nicaraguan people and the inspiration of leaders such as Augusto César Sandino, whose anti-imperialist thinking and defense of national sovereignty became the standard of the revolutionary cause. The FSLN, founded in 1961, assumed that historical heritage with the objective of building a free, just and inclusive Nicaragua.
