Venezuela condemns terrorist attack in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia González, condemned this Saturday, on behalf of the Venezuelan Executive, the terrorist attack perpetrated against a security checkpoint in the district of Tank, province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Through a post on his social networks, the foreign minister transmitted a message of solidarity to the Pakistani nation and extended his condolences to the families of the victims; at the same time he called for peace, stability and security to prevail in the region.

The attack occurred with the detonation of a vehicle loaded with explosives, which left at least 15 people dead: 12 members of the Armed Forces, two local police officers and an official of the Forestry Department.

Pakistani security forces, in response, neutralized 12 of the attackers, allegedly belonging to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) insurgent group .
