Venezuela participates in the installation of Parliamentary Friendship Groups of the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam

The event was led by the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and president of the National Assembly, Tran Thanh Man, and by the permanent vice-president of the National Assembly, Do Van Chien; and was attended by the members of the GAP, members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, representatives of agencies and ministries, as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Vietnam.

During his speech, the president of the Vietnamese Parliament emphasized that the installation of the 64 GAPs constitutes a significant event, both for the activities of the legislative body and for Vietnam's foreign relations, by strengthening the mechanisms of exchange and cooperation with the parliaments of other countries.

In this regard, he stressed that parliamentary diplomacy plays an increasingly important role in international relations, contributing to mutual understanding, building trust and promoting cooperation between peoples.

 

He also noted that Parliamentary Friendship Groups constitute mechanisms that build bridges between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the world's parliaments, encouraging the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations.

 

In Venezuela, the GAP of the National Assembly with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the period 2026-2031 was constituted at the beginning of the current legislature and is chaired by Deputy Saúl Ortega and his vice-president is Deputy Nancy Pérez, who lead this political space of special relevance to accompany and strengthen the bilateral agenda, contributing to the consolidation of the bonds of friendship that unite Caracas and Hanoi.

Venezuela's participation in this important activity reaffirms the interest of the Bolivarian Republic in continuing to strengthen ties of solidarity and cooperation with Vietnam, as well as in promoting parliamentary diplomacy as a space for deepening political dialogue and mutual knowledge between both nations.
