During the extraordinary session held at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, the Venezuelan diplomatic delegation presented the advances and territorial planning strategies that the National Executive is carrying out after the effects generated by the earthquakes recently registered in the country.

At a UN meeting on the Midterm Review of the New Urban Agenda, the Permanent Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirmed that access to sustainable, inclusive and resilient urban development constitutes a fundamental right indispensable for the well-being of peoples.

The Venezuelan Government currently prioritizes the safe reorganization of the habitat through the updating of technical construction standards, the exhaustive review of risk maps and comprehensive interventions in impacted areas.

“After the earthquakes that occurred, the Venezuelan Government coordinates land planning plans with technical criteria of seismic resistance and climate resilience,” highlighted the diplomatic representation through its official channels with a strategy that combines the precision of technical studies with the force of community action.

In this context, the strategy aims not only to repair infrastructure, but also to transform urban spaces into environments capable of withstanding the impact of climate change and future seismic events, demonstrating that the response to natural emergencies is based on prevention, scientific knowledge and institutional solidarity with affected families.
