Venezuela reached historic record of 44 gold medals in Santa Fe 2026

The Venezuelan sports delegation signed a memorable performance at the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026, counting a historic total of 44 gold medals that categorically exceed the records achieved in the previous editions of Asunción 2022 and Cochabamba 2018.

The Ministry of Popular Power for Sports celebrated the performance of national athletes through its digital channels, highlighting the competitive drive and the delivery of the national contingent in each of the disciplines contested during the continental competition.

“There are moments that remain engraved in the sporting memory of a country, but what our delegation just signed in Santa Fe 2026 is pure history and pundonor,” the government agency celebrated through a post on social networks, in which the group's commitment to raising the tricolor flag was exalted.

In addition, the sports portfolio highlighted the technical evolution of Venezuelan athletes on the track, the pool and the different competition surfaces: “We surpassed the records of Asunción 2022 and Cochabamba 2018 with courage and talent, demonstrating that the national tricolor has no roof when competing with the soul”.

The final balance confirms the rebound and consolidation of Venezuelan high performance in the South American multidisciplinary scene. The highest sports authorities expressed their gratitude to the competitors for the effort made to place the eight stars on the regional podium, sealing one of the most fruitful performances for the country in the history of this sporting event.
