Venezuelan athletes continue to stand out by winning gold medals at the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026.
In this regard, the Instagram account of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports highlighted the various victories of Venezuelan athletes on the Santa Fe podiums.
The athlete Katherine Paredes left the tricolor at the top when she won a gold medal for Venezuela, thus becoming champion in the women's individual sabre.
Paredes managed to beat Argentina's María Perroni 15-11 at the Salvador Bonilla stadium of the Provincial Athletic Club, in Rosario, home of the South American fencing competition.
“Our hearts explode with pride to see you at the top of the podium in Santa Fe. Congratulations, champion!”
With this triumph, the Venezuelan delegation has won a new gold medal, affirming the high level of national fencing in international competitions.
For his part, the Venezuelan fencer Grabiel Lugo raised the Venezuelan flag when he won the gold medal in the men's individual sword category.
The national competitor won with a final score of 15-13 against Brazil's Nicolas Deguchi, a victory that allowed him to become champion.
The Venezuelan fencing delegation celebrated the victory after the fight that awarded a new gold medal for the country. This result represents Lugo's effort, discipline and commitment.

In addition, in women's weightlifting, Yilihannys Jiménez won gold for Venezuela, who led the 57-kilogram women's division, with a perfect execution and a lot of strength.
The Venezuelan finished the competition with a total lift of 199 kilos ahead of the Peruvian Shoely Mego (197) and the Colombian Antonia Moya (195).
On the other hand, José Carlos Rojas won the bronze medal in the 500m+ Distance Sprint Speed Skating and took the podium with Roberto García.
Roberto García is proclaimed runner-up in the 500m+ Distance Sprint Speed Skating Championship.
