Venezuelan Embassy in Singapore received a new donation for those affected by a double earthquake

In an emotional meeting that reaffirmed the ties of cooperation and international solidarity, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Republic of Singapore participated in the celebration of the Humanitarian Night, an annual event organized by the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) as part of its Humanitarian Week.

During the official reception, the president of the SRC, Tan Kai Hoe, made the symbolic delivery of a second issue of humanitarian assistance worth S$50,000 (Singapore dollars) to the Venezuelan ambassador in Singapore, Jessica López, who received this contribution on behalf of the communities affected by the earthquakes recorded last June 24.

This new contribution complements a first installment of S$100,000 made last June, bringing Singapore's total financial support to S$150,000. These funds are channeled directly through the Venezuelan Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to finance relief efforts, provision of drinking water,
psychosocial health care and long-term reconstruction plans.

The participation of the Venezuelan diplomatic delegation to the international community and local rescue agencies underlines the commitment of both nations to act beyond the immediate emergency phase.

In this regard, the Singaporean Red Cross authorities emphasized, during the gala, that resilience and global strategic alliances with diplomatic missions are the fundamental engine for mitigating the impact of natural disasters.

The Venezuelan Embassy reiterated its deep gratitude to the people and to the Red Cross of Singapore for this significant gesture of brotherhood. It also reminds the Singaporean community that the SCR's public fundraising campaign for those affected in Venezuela will remain officially open until September 30.
