Venezuelan women's handball won bronze in South American soccer in Peru

Venezuela won the bronze medal 28-20 over Peru in the IHF Trophy Senior South American zone, which was held in Lima, Peru.


The national team went through ups and downs during the preliminary phase, but they knew how to respond at decisive moments to ensure their presence among the three best teams in the competition.


In the semifinals, the national team lost 32-15 to Uruguay to leave Venezuela with the mission of competing for third place.


The Venezuelan performance also had a prominent figure with Elimar Machado, who led the national offensive with 11 points and was recognized as the MVP of the bronze medal match.


In their debut, Venezuela started off on the right foot by defeating Colombia 27-17; however, in their second appearance, they suffered a 33-15 setback against Chile.
