Vietnam reaffirms its alliance with Russia and qualifies it as a priority of its foreign policy

The President of Vietnam, To Lam, affirmed that bilateral relations with the Russian Federation represent a coherent course and the main strategic choice of foreign policy of the Asian nation, during a high-level meeting held this Wednesday in the Kremlin with the president, Vladimir Putin.

As part of the strengthening of the diplomatic axis between Hanoi and Moscow, the Vietnamese head of state confirmed the relevance of the historic alliance between the two nations, noting that “Vietnam constantly attaches great importance to the development of relations with Russia and considers them a priority”.

During the institutional exchange, To Lam valued the decisive role of the Russian Federation in the reconfiguration of the global geopolitical scenario, highlighting the influence of Moscow in the consolidation of a multipolar world order in the face of the dynamics of traditional domination.

The Vietnamese dignitary also praised President Putin's leadership in building this new international balance, revalidating the commitment of both administrations to advance a common strategic agenda based on sovereign cooperation and the self-determination of peoples.
