The exponential growth of Venezuelan women's boxing was present this Friday at the Santa Fe 2026 ring, after the four gold medals won by the fists of Omailyn Alcalá, Diana Maestre, Maryelis Yriza and Irismar Cardozo.

Each confrontation was a show of strategy and enormous effort, starting with Alcalá's extraordinary debut in the 57 kg semifinal against Paraguayan Minerva Mireles, who won a unanimous 5-0 victory.

He then sealed the South American title in the final match, demolishing Brazil's Jucielen Romeu 3-2 in a tighter battle that brought out the technical and tactical level of the capital's world medalist.
