Government of Táchira announced the total closure of the Puente de Oro via Rubio section due to drainage works

The Government of the state of Táchira, through the Road Institute (IVT) announced that this Monday, August 24, the execution of drainage works will begin on the road platform of the Puente de Oro section, in the La Laguna sector, due to the flooding of this important border road artery as a result of heavy rainfall in the last hours of this Sunday, August 23.

In strict compliance with the guidelines given by the governor of the entity, Freddy Bernal, a rigorous technical deployment has been coordinated for the consolidation of these tasks, provided that the weather conditions are favorable in the area and allow the intervention of the section affected by the accumulation of mud and sediment that has been the result of the intense rains.

In this regard, the president of the IVT, Ángel Márquez, stressed that drivers of light vehicles and public transport are being called to travel the alternative road of “Las Dantas-San Antonio del Táchira- Capacho”.

He stated that “the traffic control device will be maintained until nighttime, provided that progress has been made in the eviction and drainage of stagnant water on the road platform.”
