The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted this Saturday the structural scope of the Energy Agreement signed with the United States (USA) and emphasized that this cooperation framework will define the nation's socio-economic development model for the coming decades.
“This Energy Agreement with the United States will have a great impact on the lives of all Venezuelans in the medium and long term, we are determined in the Venezuela of the prosperous future, that we Venezuelans can look to the future in a year, 5 years, 10 years, 50 years. We are thinking about the Venezuela of the future!” , he noted.
In this regard, he pointed out that this agreement will allow the use of Venezuelan oil wealth, which remains in the subsoil, to put it at the service of Venezuelans.
“As everyone knows, our country has the largest oil reserves in the world, but having resources underground is not enough, we need investment, technology, infrastructure, productive capacity to convert that wealth into well-being for our people, it's no use having our oil reserves underground just to appear in statistics or accounts and we can say we are the country with the largest reserve in the world when we cannot convert it and translate it into development for Venezuela,” he said.
The president in charge reiterated the Executive's priority in providing direct care to the population. “Our reserves must become well-being, prosperity and happiness for this country and allow us to recover our productive capacity to consolidate ourselves as an energy and producer power, in this way, not only do we generate better revenues, public services, health, education and roads for our people,” he said.
