AN enacted the Housing Construction Promotion and Protection Act

The National Assembly (AN) approved, in a special session this Friday, the Law for the Promotion and Protection of Housing Construction, which will promote and develop the real estate sector, in addition to providing comprehensive protection to citizens in the purchase of their homes.

The articles of this new legal instrument establish the mechanisms to resolve and guarantee better economic conditions so that those affected by the earthquake of last June 24 can access the purchase of new properties.

In this regard, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, emphasized that this legal instrument favors developers, producers, homebuilders, as well as buyers.

“We have profoundly amended the previously called Law against Real Estate Fraud and have converted it into a new law. It's the Housing Construction Promotion and Protection Act. It is a law that protects all these developers, producers, builders who are dedicated to the field of housing construction and at the same time it also protects homebuyers so that they can quickly access them and also to avoid any situation that violates people's right to have a home,” he highlighted in a video posted on his Telegram channel.

In the same way, Rodríguez explained that this Law orders the creation of a single registry, for developers and builders. In addition, a regime for the promotion and protection of new housing was established, as was the sanctioning regime.

The legal instrument was approved unanimously in the second discussion.
