Bolivarian Government collected six tons of waste off the coast of Miranda

A total of six tons of solid waste were collected off the coast of the municipality of Brión, in the state of Miranda, during a day dedicated to environmental cleaning carried out this weekend on the occasion of World Beach Day, with the participation of 850 volunteers.

The initiative, coordinated by the Brión Ecological Foundation (ECOBRIÓN), covered resorts such as Caño Madrid, Aguasal, Zona del Este, Cuchivano, Valle Seco, Los Cocos, Los Totumos, San Francisquito, Puerto Francés and Rio Birongo, national media reported.

The mayor, Olga Pacheco, recognized the impact generated by the increase in tourism in the area. “We have registered a 35% increase in visitors after the earthquakes in the state of La Guaira,” while noting that this stimulates the local economy and insisted on the need for a cultural change on the part of seasonal tourists to ensure sustainability. “The economy of the area benefits positively from the visit,” he said, inviting us to look to the future of the region with optimism and institutional commitment.
