The Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez, from the Teresa Carreño Theater, in Caracas, on June 14, 2006, asserted that Venezuela is not a threat to anyone.

“The fear of empire is the dignity of the Venezuelan people, the dignity that moves us and that we are an example of humanism for the world,” said Chávez.

Commander Chávez, quoting a phrase from “Che” Guevara, argued that revolutionaries “are the highest echelon of the human species.”

“A revolutionary moves only out of love for humanity, out of love for others and following Christ's command to 'Love one another',” he added.

He also argued that Venezuelans cannot allow our future to be stolen again, to be curtailed again.

“One of the serious damages that imperialism and its lackeys do to all our peoples is through the demonization of our governments,” he said.
