As part of the signing of the decrees aimed at strengthening social protection and human rights, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, signed the approval of the new regulations for comprehensive care for people on the autism spectrum.
He stressed that it is an initiative of deep human feeling, born of the joint effort between the National Assembly, organized mothers' movements and various social sectors.
“I am very grateful for this achievement, because I know that it has been a constant effort of many mothers who were in the National Assembly and who then gave the debate at these tables. This regulation is for treating people on the autism spectrum and represents a priority of maximum care and maximum interest for our country,” he said.
The Head of State stressed that material conditions should not be an impediment to building a solid support network for Venezuelan households.
“I know that material conditions often hinder comprehensive care, but all government social programs must have a space to serve people who are on the autism spectrum so that the Venezuelan family feels that there is real support and I hope that this regulation will pave that path and we can move forward,” he emphasized.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of all the institutions of the Venezuelan state, and insisted that all powers must be united in living with regulations whose objectives are profoundly human.
