Creation of the Venezuelan Superior Basketball League announced

They formally constitute the Venezuelan Superior Basketball League in order to consolidate a stable and sustained system of professional competition that favors the development of the discipline in the country.

The announcement was announced on the Instagram account of the Popular Ministry for Sports through a statement. They also indicated that in the first season the “Venezuela Renace” cup will be played, which will begin in the month of September and will end in December of 2026.

The new league will be integrated into the system of national competitions to strengthen the development plan promoted by the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB), making it easier for players to remain in constant permanent activity.

The teams will be made up of Venezuelan players and will complement the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB), which will continue to develop during the first half of each year. In addition, the organizations that will be part of this initiative in its first edition are:

2. Caracas crocodiles
3. Guaiquerís de Margarita
4. Globetrotters of Carabobo
5. Pipers from Zulia
6. Pioneers of Avila
7. Capital District Spartans
8. Pirates of La Guaira
9. Caracas Hydrocarbons
10. Costaneros de Puerto Cabello

In the coming days they will announce the technical details of the competition, such as the format and the schedule.
