Monagas: 618 coffee farmers received funding from the Government

A total of 618 coffee farmers in the state of Monagas received funding from the Government, in connection with the launch of the Community Coffee Plan.

According to information issued by the Government, this benefit belongs to the first phase of the plan and includes the provision of agricultural inputs, with a strategic territorial reach in the municipalities of Acosta, Caripe, Cedeño and Piar.

The activity took place in the Choto Maimu Park of the Gran Poder de Dios Agrotourism District, located in the Caripe municipality and was chaired by the regional president, Ernesto Luna, who was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Communes, Elías Sánchez and the mayors of the northern axis of Monagas, Dalila Rosillo, of the Jardín de Oriente, Mariángelys Tillero, de Piar and Daniel Monteverde de Cedeño.

Luna highlighted that the program includes the attention of 27 coffee communes, achieving a production of more than 1,200 hectares and the work of more than a thousand producers, delivering 480 tons of inputs.

“In Monagas we have a very nice experience with the corn and legume plan that we are about to start harvesting, thanks to the efforts of our producers. That is why today we are promoting the Community Coffee Plan to serve more than a thousand coffee growers in the state and increase productivity in this sector,” he added.
