  • 10 years ago, on March 29, 2016, paramilitary assassins hired by the opposition, posing as demonstrators, ended the lives of police officers Nicolle Melisa Pérez Soler, 21, and Armando Otto Márquez, 25, when they were hit by a transport unit hijacked by the perpetrators.
  • Nicolle Pérez S., an official of Poli-Táchira, and Armando O. Márquez, of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) were attacked by a bus while on a duty mission, during student riots supposedly called by the opposition to demonstrate against the increase in public transport fares.
  • The event occurred as part of the violent opposition attacks selectively directed against police and military officials across the country, leaving 57 troops killed and more than 100 seriously injured in the outbreaks of violence generated in the framework of “Las Guarimbas” in Caracas, Maracay, Valencia and San Cristóbal.
  • The transport unit used corresponded to No. 119 of the Barinas-El Piñal Express Line, which was used as a murder weapon to run over law enforcement officers and cause the act of blood that shocked and mourned that Andean entity.
  • This focus of chaos and destabilization was planned by the opposition to cause deaths inside the facilities of the University Institute of Technology of the Los Andes Region (IUT), in the city of San Cristóbal, edo. Tachira. In these facilities, “Las Guarimbas” took the lives of two new innocent victims.
  • The announcement of this news, which shocked the edo. Táchira, was made by the governor of the entity, Captain José Gregorio Vielma Mora, who urged the population not to make “malicious comments... I ask for respect for the deceased and their families... terrorism will not be able to fight us, we are with democracy and freedom”.

“The fight against criminal violence, organized crime and paramilitarism is not just a matter for the State and the Government. The entire population must be aware because it is a matter of destabilizing the country for political ends.”

  • In the context of these guarimbas, the systematic elimination of police and military officials occurred, in the context of the overwhelming social violence caused by shock troops (paramilitaries) organized in Colombia to assassinate anyone who would hinder the enormous flow of drugs that, from that neighboring country, feeds the gigantic US market.
  • In this regard, by the time that law enforcement officials, Nicolle Melisa Pérez Soler and Armando Otto Márquez, were assassinated, Colombian paramilitaries and their demobilized assassins infiltrated the Edo border. Táchira, hired and financed by the extreme right of both countries to cause the greatest possible damage to the Bolivarian Revolution, assassinating all the uniformed personnel deployed to defend peace, citizen security and the protection of Venezuela as a territory free from political violence and the scourge of drugs.
