To provide a quick and effective response to those who lost their homes due to the past earthquakes of June 24, representatives of public and private banks continued working together as part of Plan Venezuela Renace, an initiative led by the Bolivarian Government led by President Delcy Rodríguez, to facilitate access to decent housing through social credit.

The meeting, which took place in the office of the Deputy Minister of Banking, Insurance and Securities and President of the Treasury Bank, Jimmy Berríos, was attended by Pedro Pacheco, president of the Venezuelan Banking Association (ABV), as well as representatives of the private banking Banesco, Mercantil, Provincial and National Credit Bank and public banking, Banco de Venezuela, Banco Digital de los Trabajadores and Banco del Tesoro.

During the day, the authorities highlighted the effectiveness of the joint work between the State and the financial sector: “The Venezuela Renace Plan has allowed around 400 people to have already made their formal request for social credit to purchase their new homes,” said Deputy Minister Berríos.

For his part, Pedro Pacheco emphasized the human value behind this initiative: “It's an opportunity to keep moving forward. Beyond credit, it's about helping families who have lost everything. It is an unprecedented process: when evaluating specific cases, pre-approval is granted and, today, many people already have the keys to their home in hand.”

Following the guidelines of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Anabel Pereira, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of offering an agile and close treatment to applicants throughout the process.

The main validator to qualify for these credits is the Collapsed Housing Certificate, necessary for banks' technical teams to aim for the first phase of pre-approval.

Berríos urged banking institutions to maintain permanent contact with affected customers who contact them to avoid uncertainty.

With this continuous monitoring, public and private banks reaffirm their commitment to join forces to offer definitive solutions and restore peace of mind to affected Venezuelan families, thanks to the Venezuela Renace Plan.
