On August 6, 2020, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, was discharged after fighting the battle against COVID-19.
“I thank God, to José Gregorio Hernández, to the Virgin, to the prayers of this beautiful people, for accompanying me in this first month of battle, to the medical and nursing staff, to my family, to you thanks for so much love. Leaving medical discharge today. We Will Win!” , Cabello said that day from the social network X (formerly Twitter).
It is worth remembering that Cabello spent 25 days battling the disease, of which 11 underwent an intubation process until July 28, 2020, when he woke up from COVID-19.
“That I was intubated for 11 days, and I woke up on July 28th, damn it! , for me that's too much, too strong. I don't know, too strong for me,” Cabello recalled during Con El Mazo Dando Program Number 396.
During the interview with Aquí Con Ernesto, in September 2020, he acknowledged that the medical team that treated him was extraordinary, including Cuban and Venezuelan doctors, as well as the health personnel, they gave him the picture of what could happen with the progression of the disease and recommended that he get ahead of it before falling into the crisis.
Five years after this event, the People thank God for having brought back to life this compatriot who continues in Unity, Struggle, Battle and Victory.
