205 years ago, the Father of the Fatherland entered Bogotá victorious after defeating the Spanish yoke

On August 10, 1819, the Liberator Simon Bolivar and his Patriot Army entered the city of Bogotá victoriously, after defeating the royalists who occupied the viceroyalty in New Granada in the Battle of Boyacá.

This action culminates and triumphs the Campaign of the Andes, a military strategy led by Bolívar from Venezuela to Bogotá, where on his journey he added troops inspired by his emancipatory thinking.

The people of New Granada dressed in flowers, played music and danced to receive their Liberator, a tribute that lasted two days.

205 years after this triumphant entry, it shows that Venezuela is an emancipatory land, from which the independence of South America was born.
