On August 6, 1813 , the Liberator Simon Bolivar entered the city of Caracas, thus culminating the Admirable Campaign.

Bolívar assumes the government and supreme command of the Second Republic, formalized a capitulation with the royalist troops stationed in La Guaira and constitutes a Provisional Central Government for the liberated Provinces (including the east of the country where Santiago Mariño triumphs with the Eastern Campaign), leaving each province under the command of a Political Governor and a Chief Military.

On October 14 of that same year, by the Municipality of Caracas and at the request of the governor of the city, Cristóbal Mendoza, awarded him the title of Army Liberator, for his feat in the Admirable Campaign to have him use that name “as a gift that consecrates the grateful homeland to such a meritorious son”.

Upon accepting the title of Liberator, with which he passed to posterity, Bolívar answered that the reward he had just received was for him, “more glorious and satisfying than the scepter of all the empires of the earth.” This success culminated a political and human feat that freed numerous populations and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all patriots: Bolivarian thought. This thought was the flag of the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez, who rescued the Bolivarian triumph from oblivion and restored its lost glory.
