April 17, 2024, marks the 30th anniversary of Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez's planting of a small saman, inside the old Samán de Güere, which served as a shelter for the Liberator Simon Bolivar and his soldiers, during the Admirable Campaign.

Under the old Saman de Güere, on December 17, 1982, Commander Chávez, Acosta Carles and a group of officers took an oath to break the historic chains of poverty and misery created by the Punto Fijo Pact.

The Bolivarian oath was the commitment of all the official members of the Bolivarian Revolutionary Movement — 200 (MBR-200), as an instrument to combat corruption in the Armed Forces.

“I swear by the God of my parents, I swear by my country, I swear by my honor that I will not give peace to my soul or rest to my arm until I see broken the chains that oppress my people by the will of the powerful. Popular choice, free lands and men, horror of the oligarchy,” exclaimed the patriots.

This commitment is based on the oath taken by the Liberator Simon Bolivar on the Sacred Mount.
