84.2% of schools in La Guaira are ready for back to school

A total of 239 of La Guaira's 290 schools and educational institutions are ready to receive students on September 14, representing 84.2% of the state's school infrastructure, said Governor José Alejandro Terán.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Terán explained that 20 campuses remain enabled as temporary camps after the earthquakes registered in the entity, but will be progressively vacated over the next two weeks. With this, they estimate increasing the recovered educational infrastructure to 90%.

The regional president pointed out that the conditioning work has been carried out for five weeks with the participation of organized popular power, with the aim of guaranteeing the necessary conditions for the return to the classrooms.

He also specified that 34 institutions have major damage and, due to this situation, their students were temporarily relocated to other educational centers to ensure the continuity of academic activities.

“We are already preparing starting next September 14 to receive the boys and girls of La Guaira, who after this double earthquake have the possibility of finding that psychoemotional support in schools that will allow them to continue their lives with optimism and joy,” said Terán.
