On September 6, 1815, the chiefs Tupepe and Manaure participated
in the Battle of El Alacrán, a war that was fought around the independence battles.
They offered their warriors for battle,
who triumphed against the realist army, which suffered heavy
casualties, resulting in more than 500 soldiers killed and about 300 prisoners.
The most important thing about this war was that it was
possible to snatch something that was urgently needed; a large
amount of war material, rifles, ammunition, a cannon with its equipment and many horses.
In addition, he was thanked for the great contribution that the chiefs also
gave in providing food and horses to follow
the patriotic cause.
Thanks to the victory of the
patriots, they managed to disperse the enemy's survivors in all directions.
This was the first step for the
patriot army to achieve that of the territory of Barcelona.
