Venezuela's economic performance maintains its positive streak, with 21 consecutive quarterly periods in expansionary terrain. According to data released this Tuesday by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) experienced an increase of 7.14% during the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year.
The dynamism registered in the macroeconomic indicator was mainly driven by the hydrocarbons sector. The oil industry reported a significant acceleration in its production rate, reaching a year-on-year increase of 9.10% between April and June.
On the other hand, sectors not linked to hydrocarbon activity showed an increase of 5.79%. The issuing agency attributed this favorable behavior to the fluidity in the allocation of foreign exchange aimed at strengthening the local productive apparatus, together with greater synergy between the different actors of the national economy.
The report also highlights that the diversification of the country's productive matrix is consolidating, while strengthening the supply of Venezuelan goods and services with a vocation for export.
