Bolivarian Government and UNICEF evaluate strategies to strengthen immunization care in the country

Representatives of the Ministry of Health (MinSalud) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) held a meeting to evaluate and strengthen cooperative lines aimed at the health protection of the Venezuelan population.

In the exchange, the Deputy Minister of Collective Health Networks, Magda Magris, reviewed the advances in immunization coverage, community nutrition programs and the supply of strategic supplies in the primary care network of the National Public Health System (SPNS) provided by UNICEF and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) during the contingency that the country experienced on June 24.

“This meeting with the UNICEF representative allows us to consolidate a joint work agenda, aligned with the public health policies of the Venezuelan State. Our central objective is to optimize response capacity in communities and ensure that every boy and girl has a comprehensive and preventive care scheme,” said Magris.

In addition, according to a press release, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the inter-institutional coordination seeks to strengthen the work of the multidisciplinary teams deployed in the different Health Regions of the country, prioritizing epidemiological surveillance and the support of families in areas of high vulnerability.

Finally, the Deputy Minister asserted that health personnel are in constant training to provide care to the Venezuelan people. With this working group, MinSalud reaffirms its commitment to maintaining international coordination channels that directly contribute to the well-being and integral development of the Venezuelan population.
