Bolivarian Government continues to deliver technical equipment to community radio stations in Caracas

On a day that reaffirms the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to the democratization of information and the strengthening of alternative and community media, the Ministry of Popular Power for Communication and Information (MIPPCI), this Thursday, August 20, took an institutional tour of three emblematic radio stations in the Metropolitan Area of Caracas.

The strengthening of alternative and community media is a State policy promoted by the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez and the sectoral vice-president of communication and culture, Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela, who recognize communication as a human right and as a pillar for the construction of a more just, participatory and sovereign society.

The purpose of the activity, led by the Deputy Minister of Communication, Gustavo Villapol, and the general director of Alternative and Community Media, was to provide technical equipment to optimize transmissions, as well as to evaluate the social impact and the work that these stations do in their communities.

The tour made it possible to verify the dynamism, the vocation for service and the organizational capacity of the stations visited, reported the Cuatro F portal.

The Alameda 100.3 FM station, located in the parish of San Agustín, has established itself as a reference for popular communication in downtown Caracas. Operating 24 hours a day, the station transmits 18 live programs and has a streaming signal, allowing it to reach audiences beyond its radio spectrum.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister highlighted the sustained effort of the station's team to maintain a diverse and quality program that addresses issues of community, cultural and social interest. The delivery of technical equipment will make it possible to further optimize your signal quality and transmission capacity.

In the San Bernardino parish, the visit focused on Radio La Urbana 88.5 FM, a station that currently produces five programs on the air and that has been distinguished by its commitment to local information and citizen participation.

The delivery of technical equipment is part of a modernization plan that will allow Radio La Urbana to expand its operational capacity and improve the quality of its transmissions, reaffirming its role as a meeting space for the community of San Bernardino and surrounding sectors.

One of the most notable visits was to Radio Macarao 100.3 FM, located in the Macarao parish, west of Caracas. This station has become a true engine of popular communication, with 25 programs on air that address educational, cultural, sporting and community interest issues.

One of Radio Macarao's most ambitious projects is the training of 70 community reporters, an initiative that seeks to train young people and adults in the community in the use of journalistic and communication tools to make visible the realities of their environment.

These three stations are an example of the organizational and creative potential of the Venezuelan people. The delivery of technical equipment represents a firm step in the MIPPCI support plan, which seeks to strengthen infrastructure, technical capacity and the reach of community media across the country.
