SAIME releases the identity card renewal process step by step

The Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME) issued detailed instructions to guide citizens in the process of renewing their identity cards through its web platform, a mechanism that allows them to complete data registration and schedule an appointment at the office of their choice.

Steps to complete the online procedure

1. Access to the system: The user must enter the official portal www.saime.gob.ve, enter the “Online Procedures” module and select “Request Procedures”. Afterwards, you must indicate your nationality (Venezuelan or certified foreigner) and log in with your ID number and password.
2. Confirmation of the request: After verifying the personal information on the screen, you must click on the “Renew” option in the corresponding box and press “Accept” in the pop-up message.
3. Registration of physical and birth data: The system displays a form to complete personal traits (physiognomy). In this section, the data of the birth certificate and the health center must be carefully reviewed before proceeding.
4. Address and final review: The current residential address must be entered with all its details. After reviewing the general summary of the request, the user must select “Confirm Data”.
5. Schedule the appointment and form: In the agenda section, you select your preferred state, location and office, marking an available day on the calendar (highlighted in green). When confirming the appointment, the system redirects to the main page, from where you must access the last order to download and print the required form on the day of the face-to-face service.
