Bolivarian Government delivers rehabilitated Simon Bolivar Educational Unit in Petare

The Bolivarian Government handed over the fully rehabilitated Simón Bolívar State Educational Unit, in the San Blas sector of the Petare parish, Miranda state.

 

The delivery was given by the Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, who toured the spaces and recalled that more than a thousand schools were affected by the double earthquake and are being repaired. 

 

“We are in the San Blas neighborhood of Petare, it is one of the recovered schools, which we are giving to all the Venezuelan people. We are still recovering schools, yesterday we had an extraordinary start to class and I invite all Venezuelan families to work to improve education, to accompany our children, our young people, and all the youth to study, to read, to grow for the future of Venezuela,” said Rodríguez.

 

The Minister of Education recalled that the double earthquake affected more than 1,000 schools and high schools, and the national government has been “very jealous” that schools are able to guarantee the safety of children and young people.

In this regard, he explained that during the holidays, specialized teams were deployed that found about 900 schools affected, but classes can be given because they have no structural faults; another 87 buildings that do have structural faults, so they cannot have activities, and 11 that failed completely.  

 

“Those students were rezoned to guarantee their right to study. We have between 83,000 and 86,000 children relocated to the closest possible schools, and some have even opened double shifts,” he said.
