Bolivarian Government pays tribute to athletes and paraathletes after historic performance in the Olympic cycle

This Wednesday, the welcome and award ceremony was held to the athletes and paraathletes who worthily represented the country at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 and the Parasur-American Games in Valledupar 2026.

The control event with the presence of the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, the sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez and the Minister of the Popular, Franklin Cardillo.

Cardillo expressed his deep satisfaction with the achievements achieved by the Golden Generation. “With us are the 89 medalists (25 gold medalists) who represented us at the Parasuramerican Games in Valledupar, our recognition and our congratulations,” he said.

He also stated that the participation of our athletes in the 2926 Central American and Caribbean Games was one of the best, “a historic performance, they won a total of 216 medals, of which 49 were gold”.

The head of the sports portfolio stressed that these results are not coincidental, but are a direct consequence of the execution of the Los Angeles Strategic Plan 2028, approved and promoted by the National Executive since the beginning of the current Olympic cycle.

“This positive trend that we have been experiencing since the Bolivarian Games is the result of rigorous compliance with the plan. We have high-level foreign technicians, first-line equipment, recovery of sports facilities, permanent rallies and the direct attention of interdisciplinary teams in the medical, physical and nutritional areas to guarantee 100% preparation of our athletes,” said Cardillo.
