Bolivarian Government rehabilitates 12 schools affected by earthquakes in the Sucre de Miranda municipality

In the Sucre municipality of Miranda state, 12 schools that were damaged by the earthquakes of last June 24 are being rehabilitated, said the Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez.

During an inspection at the José Antonio Calcaño National Educational Unit, in the Caucagüita sector, he also explained that 28 educational institutions of that entity were set up as temporary camps to receive affected families, and all will be properly equipped to receive children and young people in the new school period, which begins on September 14.

“Now on vacation we have to recover schools, which is what we normally do all year round, but at vacation time, since the children are gone, we can work more intensively. President Delcy Rodríguez had already approved us to rehabilitate 500 schools across the country, and now she has added another 1,000,” she said.

Rodríguez recognized “the entire educational team in the country for the effort of the school year”, which although it “closed abruptly” due to the seismic double, the corresponding amount of time had already been brought forward to the school calendar and did not affect the students.

In the same way, according to a press release from the ministerial portfolio, he congratulated parents, organized communities and all levels of government, “because working together” shows “an improvement in the education system every time”.

“It is a year that closes with more schools recovered, with an increase in enrollment, with improvements in compliance with the calendar, so we are already preparing for the new school year,” he said.
