The general secretary of the
United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, recalled that 212 years ago a group
of young people, together with General José Félix Ribas, went out in an unequal battle,
but they did it for the freedom of the Fatherland.
In this regard, during the Great Youth
March in Caracas, he stressed that “if this country has anything, it's heroes
and heroines and every time it corresponds to us we will be on the street remembering
what young Venezuelans were able to do on February 12th.”
He also recognized the young people who today “are in a permanent battle, active throughout the country,
aware of the task at hand”.
“When we have our President kidnapped, our people who were attacked with more than 100 dead, these young people of today say they are present and they don't give up. We are here accompanying him and thanking him for the life that allows us to be here, whenever we can, with them in their struggles; this Homeland belongs to them, ” he said.
